GPS Director Thomas Thorogood Featured on Shoutout Miami
Shoutout Miami sits down with Global Production Source director and live-event production mastermind Thomas Thorogood to talk team, tour life, and building shows that don't take 'no' for an answer.

Shoutout Miami has featured Thomas Thorogood, director of Global Production Source (GPS), in a wide-ranging conversation about the people, philosophy, and technical craft behind one of South Florida's busiest live-event production companies.
Thomas is a live-event production mastermind whose fingerprints are on concerts, festivals, corporate keynotes, brand activations, and weddings across Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and the wider Florida touring circuit. Over the course of his career he has designed, programmed, and technical-directed shows alongside industry heavyweights like Live Nation, national touring artists, Fortune 500 brands, and some of the most demanding promoters in the business — the kind of rooms where lighting design, LED walls, line array PA, and staging all have to land on the first downbeat.
GPS is a full-service event production company: concert production, festival production, corporate event production, stage design, lighting design, audio engineering, LED video walls, and mobile stage rentals — including the flagship Apex 3224 mobile stage that has anchored outdoor tour dates up and down the state. Thomas leads the technical direction side of that operation, translating an artist's or a brand's vision into a rider, a plot, a truck pack, and ultimately a show that actually loads in on time.
In the Shoutout Miami interview, Thomas credits GPS's growth to the team around him — a crew built on trust, work ethic, and a shared belief that personality can't be taught but skills can. His now-signature answer to a tough ask on show day is never a flat 'no,' but rather 'let me find out' or 'let's see what we can do.' That mindset, he says, is why clients keep coming back and why national tours trust GPS to hold the line when things inevitably go sideways.
He also talks about the Miami he loves — Oleta River, Vizcaya, Wynwood, the Frost Museum, and long dinners at Shima and The Taco Stand — and about the partners and mentors who shaped his approach to building a production company that people actually want to work with.
