GPS (Global Production Source) was founded by Mike Sipe, a recognized leader in the events and entertainment industry and the founder of Mike Sipe Entertainment and Pure Energy Entertainment.
"In 1983, I founded Sipe Sound Systems in Indianapolis, Indiana. The company quickly grew into a highly successful DJ and entertainment business. While the success was rewarding, I realized that seasonal entertainment services alone would not provide the year-round opportunities I envisioned. After extensive research and careful planning, I sold the company in 1992 and relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to pursue opportunities within the hospitality industry.
In 1994, I launched Mike Sipe Entertainment, drawing upon years of industry experience and a commitment to exceptional client service. Building on that success, we developed Pure Energy Entertainment in 1995, a company specializing in coming-of-age celebrations and milestone events. Both companies thrived because of our unwavering commitment to operating with integrity, professionalism, and strong ethical values. We were passionate about creating memorable experiences and genuinely cared about the success of every event and the satisfaction of every client."

Mike Sipe has spent decades producing and promoting some of the most iconic events and entertainment experiences in South Florida. Through Mike Sipe Entertainment and Pure Energy Entertainment, he helped shape the region's live event scene and built a reputation for excellence, innovation, and integrity.
With GPS, Mike's vision expanded, creating a production company built to tackle larger-scale projects with world-class staging, sound, lighting, and production services.
"As our businesses expanded, we learned many valuable lessons. One of the most important was the critical role that audio-visual, sound, lighting, and production partners play in representing a client's brand. Too often, these services were delivered without the level of professionalism and attention to detail that clients deserved. Recognizing this gap, we gradually expanded our expertise into the production side of the industry.
After years of hands-on experience with the many facets of event production, we established Global Production Source in 2018. The company was created to provide comprehensive staging, lighting, sound, video, and audiovisual production solutions for virtually any type of event or application. Guided by the same principles that drove the success of our previous companies, our mission is to deliver unforgettable experiences while fostering an atmosphere of trust, collaboration, and togetherness."
Passing the Torch
After decades spent curating unforgettable events and building Mike Sipe Entertainment into a powerhouse in the industry, Mike made a decision rooted in both confidence and trust: it was time to step back and enjoy the life he’d worked so hard to build.
But stepping back didn’t mean stepping away, it meant handing the reins to someone who had already proven he was ready to lead. On August 1, 2022, Mike named Thomas Thorogood Director of Global Production Source, capping off four successful years with Mike Sipe Entertainment and a career built on years of industry experience before that. It wasn’t the end of an era; it was the beginning of a new one. Thomas saw the vision, and possessed the skills it would take to take GPS to the next level.
